“Increasing access to scientific information for citizens has to be a concern for everyone and is a condition of harmonious progress.

Over its existence, the BIAL Foundation has made a very significant contribution to addressing all of these issues and challenges. I would therefore like to warmly congratulate all those who, through their own dedicated and serious hard work, have contributed to this happy outcome, fully in line with the achievement of the objectives and the mission that the Foundation set itself to achieve two and a half decades ago. A very special greeting to Dr. Luís Portela, whose leadership has been decisive and who serves as an example, inspiration and encouragement.
